Hobart 20 QT. mixer (HL 200) will not operate on a GFCI receptacle.
I have a 20 QT. Hobart mixer on the project I am working on. By code, all of the receptacles in this comercial kitchen are required to be GFCI protected. The problem is, because the motor utilizes a phase converter, there is no return current on the neutral of the GFCI receptacle and it trips every time the mixer is energized. When plugged into a normal receptacle, the mixer works fine. What can be done to run this mixer and keep GFCI protection?
